Well the time came that i always dread it was time for all the kids to go back to school, i just hate sending little man off to school i still havent got over missing him when he isnt here. I know he loves it which is why i do it and i know that realistically he needs to go and socialise with other kids his own age and get away from me lol. Its soooo hard trusting someone else to make sure he is ok and i dont think anyone will ever do it as well as i do (in my opinion anyway lol) I think the hardest thing has been trying to get people to appreciate how serious his condition is, without sounding paranoid or neurotic. The constant need to think before they allow him to do something, the making sure he doesnt get to hot or too cold so he doesnt over exert himself, the making sure he is eating so he doesnt tire, the fluid he needs because of the excessive sweating. The watching for bruising, the list goes on and on, but do i do these things because its necessary or because i have somehow convinced myself something bad will happen if im not constantly on the ball, who knows, its probably a bit of both.
Anyway little man enjoyed his day apart from the fact he had PRETEND ROAST which apparently was pretend because they didnt cook the carrots lol, his opinion of year one so far is that it is cool because he gets to go on the computer although he was disgusted his teacher wouldnt let him make a facebook profile pmsl. He went out into the yard to play and despite me grilling him to make sure his one to one was out there supervising him he loved it lol. He told me that he loves me and misses me though awwww.
He has gone today not very happy but i think part of that is because he is a little monkey to get to sleep of a night, its nearly midnight before he goes off properly. He has decided that he needs a snack at break time and decided that as he wouldnt be allowed this would be something he would cry about, so i sent his dad in to make sure they allow him his crisp lol. Those teachers must quake when they see one of us approching them wondering what on earth we can be about to complain about.
So i have too get used to not having my little mate around during the week days and find something to occupy my time, i shouldnt complain and im not really its just like my arm is cut off without my lil man, i should be thankful that he is off to school and still coming home, and i am truely thankful i know so many mums whos little ones are angels and would do anything to have my worries. So when my little man goes to school each day he does it for every heart angel in the angels playground, he does it to show that sometimes these kids are lucky and do get there, they can achieve lots and if they are extremely lucky they can show others the way. My little man does this, he shows that with the excellent surgeons and a whole lot of luck it can be done, and that is why im very very proud of him and all he achieves.
This post is dedicated to James, Zoe and Katie all of whom should be going to school soon, Sam takes each one of these with him as he goes forward on his journey, they will never be forgotten xxxx
